ISG recognizes industry innovator for modernizing legacy MPLS environments into cloud-ready, software-defined networks for business transformation

Reston, VA, September 28, 2020.  Apcela, a leading innovator in software-defined, cloud-optimized network services, announced that it has been named a Leader in providing SD-WAN transformation for ‘Conservative’ enterprises by Information Services Group (ISG), a leading global technology research and advisory firm.

ISG, in their 2020 Provider LensTM Networks – Software Defined Solutions and Service Partners Archetype Report, highlights Apcela as a great match for large-scale enterprises, often in regulated industries such as banking, finance, biopharma, and defense that need to consolidate, modernize, and manage enterprise IT and networks, often on an urgent basis in a legacy heavy environment.

In their research, ISG found that enterprises across the globe are looking to transition from traditional networking technologies to software-defined network services to reduce costs, migrate operations to the cloud, and improve response time and overall customer experience.

“SDN technologies allow the delivery of agile, flexible, and cost-effective connectivity to support the digital roadmaps to corporate business transformation,” said Jan Erik Aase, director and global leader, ISG Provider Lens Research. “Enterprises are looking to adopt SDN technologies as a way to future-proof their business models and reduce risk.”

“Our Arcus Platform accelerates, simplifies, and de-risks the transformation from legacy hub-and-spoke MPLS networks to agile software-defined networks for an increasingly multi-cloud world,” says Travis Shank, Head of Enterprise Solutions at Apcela. “ISG understands the complex challenges large global enterprises face in transforming legacy networks. They have recognized our success integrating existing legacy infrastructure with new software-defined networks, while maintaining a focus on risk mitigation, and delivery of both short and mid-term cost reduction goals for the largest and most conservative global enterprises.”

ISG named Apcela a Conservative Archetype Leader among seven other companies including AT&T, IBM, HCL, Tech Mahindra, and Wipro. Apcela was also recognized as ‘Noteworthy Player’ across all three remaining enterprise archetypes outlined in the report. The full report is available to ISG subscribers, for immediate, one-time purchase on the ISG website, or by contacting Apcela directly.
